Karaj Physiotherapy Clinique is located in the developing part of Karaj city, in a neighborhood where a lot of the residential fabric is being replaced by office and commercial projects. the program of the project was to create a physiotherapy Clinique and related services in different floors of a small piece of land. A semi-transparent façade was designed which extends to the interior spaces, creating voids and greenspaces. The material palette of the project consists of recycled glass and stones from the cut stones of the factories, to form a semi-transparent façade. Recycled plastic bottles were used in the procedure of connecting the pieces of glasses together. The plastic bottles were heated to connect the glass pieces together. Making use of these recycled materials, the façade of the project is now semi-transparent, allowing optimum sun light exposure, while minimizing overlook to the interior spaces Considering the small scale of the land, a vertical core was not feasible to consider. Therefore, it was decided to create a homogenous circulation path on the façade of the building in the form of a transparent staircase. This technique allowed for more usable interior spaces inside the building. Moreover, the movement of people in the circulation path creates a dynamic façade in the urban scenery. A void was created to the underground level outside the main entrance of the building which not only provides sunlight to the underground level, but also creates boundary and separation between the building and the urban site. This void includes greenspaces which are then replicated on the façade.
