Sometimes living in ideal conditions is limited only to a wish. The conditions and constraints of the land, climate, economy, and regulations are factors that make living in ideal conditions difficult and even impossible. Our approach in the Avan project is to create conditions for experiencing a villa lifestyle in which comfort and security are integrated with hotel amenities, thereby enabling people to realize the dream of a villa life at height. In the northern region of Iran, we have practiced numerous projects in pursuit of achieving an appropriate model and typology suited to the geography of the area. The Avan project is also an exercise toward reaching a suitable villa typology in northern Iran. In Avan, a model for distributing and multiplying villas at height was created, and cores positioned between the villas provide the required airflow. Furthermore, the formation of the shared spaces in the building is arranged in a way that generates semi-open areas within the project and enhances the quality of landscape. The idea of multiplying the ground at height, with a lower-density construction, has led to the creation of semi-open spaces within the building mass. This typology is suitable for the geography of northern Iran. If these open spaces can allow air to pass through them and support the formation of green areas within, they will introduce an appropriate pattern for residential development in the region. Environmental preservation in this model can be achieved through wastewater treatment, the use of greywater, and the growth of greenery within the building mass at a distance from the ground. Finally, another project by the office, Marbella, has also been designed in northern Iran and in alignment with this same design exercise
